Fireclay floors Made in Italy
Valoriani Forni pizza ovens are always Made in Italy. Valoriani stands for high quality pizza ovens for home and restaurant use. By manufacturing in Italy, the quality remains consistently high for decades already in the fourth generation. But how does it work with the fireclay bricks? What is fireclay? And how is it manufactured?
Fireclay bricks are refractory bricks, they are rock-like. Fireclay is a man-made mass of raw clay and a certain amount of aluminum oxide. The bricks provide permanent temperature in the pizza oven, because they can store heat for a very long time. The higher the content of aluminum oxide (usually up to 45%) of the fireclay base, the higher the heat retention. The melting point of fireclay bricks is about 1700 degrees, so they are called refractory.
Fireclay is produced in several stages. The raw clay is fired and crushed several times in preparation, ground and mixed again with raw clay and fired again, so that a granulate is obtained that has an individual composition typical of Valoriani Forni. Through various pressing operations, the fireclay granules are pressed into shape. The dry pressed stone is particularly stable and fireproof.
Valoriani Forni produces its fireclay granulate itself according to a family secret kept for decades and presses its bricks for the pizza ovens in the company's own factory. This ensures high quality for decades and makes Valoriani flexible and independent.
