Mud Paste vs. High Quality Kit
You can now start making a great mud pudding according to medieval recipes, form a dome and start mashing away. Your children would certainly have great fun. But you might not be satisfied with the result. We have a better idea. Take a look at our pizza oven and wood-burning oven kits from Valoriani. They are delivered in few parts, are perfectly partly handmade in Italy and are absolutely durable. With such a kit you can easily enjoy 15 years. In advance, we answer some questions so that everything runs smoothly.
1. The substructure
We supply the kit, you build the substructure. This, of course, must be strong enough to support the kit. But the most important thing is that it is also built from the right material, so that it does not absorb too much heat, your stove also remains nice and effective and the wood consumption is kept within limits. Calcium silicate stones for optimal insulation of the prepared floor you can buy in our store.
2. The kit
Here you are with us at the best address. In our exhibition you can look at the different kits. What diameter should your stove be? We recommend in principle, who has enough space, should go to 100cm in diameter. This gives you the most flexibility with relatively little space. Otherwise there are two different designs: square brick arch or round brick arch. And then, of course, the question of the characteristics of the stove and customization.
3. The features
You already know that there are different sizes and visually different designs. It is important to clarify whether the firing should be direct or indirect. It depends on what you mainly want to cook and bake. If you bake a lot of bread, an indirectly fired oven is suitable. If you prefer to cook pizza, steak and antipasti, use a wood-burning oven with direct firing, as the interaction of the bottom temperature and the top heat is especially important for pizza. To bake bread you can let the oven cool down to 220 degrees, turn off the embers and close the door. In addition to the high-quality materials, the most important thing about the oven is of course the food-safe fireclay bottom on which you place your dishes. Our firebricks are free of chemicals and are specially made for use in wood-burning ovens. Don't buy cheap firebricks, they often contain toxins.
4. The individualization
From our pizza oven kits you can literally build any oven shape you like. If you build a classic dome oven in the garden, you will need the right insulation in the form of Vermiculite insulation material and ceramic fiber mats, as well as material for plastering the dome. Then the stove would be happy to have a roof, so that it can withstand the weather for years.
If you want a walled-in stove, only the opening of the kit remains visible, the rest you design around it. Many customers build a traditional bakehouse whose heart is a wood oven kit from Valoriani. There are also working areas, wooden fences, holders for shovels and brooms. Feel free to contact us with your idea, we have a variety of customer images that can provide you with inspiration.
5. The insulation set
If you want, you can order all materials in the appropriate quantity here directly from us in a set to your furnace. Then you can start the installation at home without additional trips to the hardware store. You need mortar, insulation to pour and insulation wool. We advise you on your specific project of course fit.
6. The accessories
So, the stove stands, wood you have at home. A guide to firing the oven you can also find here on the blog. Remember the necessary accessories. You'll need a pizza shovel, a metal broom to sweep off the possibly hot fireclay floor, a fire stand, and a few more optional accessories that you can pick out from us, but of course don't have to. You can check out what's available here on our website under Accessories.
